Your Young Eagles Prairie Du Chien Flight

EAA Chapter 227

Our EAA Chapter 227 volunteers and ground crew want to introduce youth to general aviation. We want to make your child's flight a positive one and an event that they will remember the rest of their lives.

We will depart the Prairie du Chien Airport and fly north. Tthe plane will climb to a height of 1,400 feet above the ground. The flight path will take the kids over the middle of Prairie du Chien. Two miles south of Charme we will turn to the over the river to the west side and fly south, then we will fly over Marquette, McGregor, and make a u-turn over Clayton. From there we will fly back to the airport. The flight will take 15 to 20 minutes. See the map! We encourage photos from the plane. Check that your child has a cell phone or camera.

Safety is our primary concern! Watch for moving aircraft and stay away from aircraft propellers! Family photos can be taken prior to departure. You can go with the kids to the plane. Young children under 8 must hold the hand of an adult the entire time on the tarmac. Stay with your "runner" until your return to the "safe areas". Do not go out onto the tarmac after the flight has landed. Reunite with your kids at table 4, where they will get their log book and certificate.

.The flight may experience some air turbulence. Air turbulence in a small plane is natural and normal. It may feel like a car going over rough railroad track. The turns may be similar to amusement rides. Just allow your body to accept the movements, and enjoy the ride! Minor air turbulence has never broken an airplane.

For your comfort, all of our pilots have passed a child protection training ,and have EAA Federal background check. To date our local chapter has flown over 6,300 young people.
